?

The last 2 posts were done on my phone.
I have done this many times.
The pictures are all ... weird...
Why?
They are not like that anywhere else,
my lens is clean etc.
So,
Why is this happening??

Amazing (for the kids)

Emma had a birthday party at Amazing Jake's for one of her besties. Regan was devastated. It's our local kid wonderland /germ pit. We have avoided it so far, but decided to succumb and play while Emma partied. It wasn't so bad once we got past all the 8th grade "gamers" and the endless germs. We all came home happy...and Brady and I even got to come home with a touch of nausea from the rickety tea cup ride that the girls all laughed themselves silly on. A good way to begin Fall Break...

Positive

Good things about today for me:         A "24" movie is being made.    Time with Mom and Aby was fun for Lyla and for me.    I got  a 45 minute nap.    I'm getting close to being done organizing the office/den/sewing/craft room.     I got to just sit and hold all 3 girls tonight and just rest.    And I'm going to bed before 11pm.                October break is just a few days away...can't wait.  Big plans...

Mud Stains and Meetings

Emma keeps coming home with what appears to be mud splashed up on the back of her shirt.  Maybe it's from playing soccer?  Or maybe it's chocolate milk from the cafeteria?  Whatever.  It's causing me laundry distress and I am over it.  She comes home happy so what can ya do?      The rest of the day was meetings.  More on that later... I am exhausted.   I missed Lyla and I am glad to be spending the rest of the evening next to the Mr.   ...and looking forward to breakfast with my Wednesday favorites in the morning.

To Keep Track

I think I'll blog everyday again.
Just because I liked doing it last time.
It's going to be a busy month but I'll just try to fit it in.

Anyway, Lyla ate yogurt by herself for the first time the other day. She made a fabulous mess...Emma and Regan lost it when she went for it and rubbed it all through her hair.

At Home

It was the first conference weekend in this house and I was excited. I cleaned and shopped for all of our favorite snacks and meals and planned for a really chill weekend with the family.
We skipped the hair-do's and opted for comfy clothes. We got out all the art supplies we could find and brought out all the toys Lyla hasn't seen for a few months.
Then we watched General Conference. "Church on the couch!" in the girls' words.
It's the perfect start to the changing seasons. I love the "reset" it is for my testimony. I feel refreshed and renewed. There is a lot of new things coming for our family (no, not that!) and I needed some guidance.
We were not disappointed.

A Look Back at September

We decided we would work outside in the yard and pretend like it was cooling off. It was still blazing hot so we had a smoothie picnic to cool off and it worked for about 10 minutes.

Emma completed her first project of the year...she had to choose a building for the 2nd grade community project to make from materials at home. She chose DQ! Super easy and fun. We made sure to drop by for "research" to make sure we didn't miss a detail.
Next was my project for the month...curtains in the family room(completed pictures to come later)! It actually worked well that I don't have a rug and couch for my living room because it was the perfect place to lay out the fabric and lining. As always it's fabulous to have my mom and my sister there because I got overwhelmed by all the fabric! Next is the bay window in the living room...
A quick trip to the mountains for our ward camp out was a perfect escape from the crazy heat.

Emma and Regan got to dance at Aunt Kassady's H.S. as part of the annual clinic and they loved it! Kass was chosen to choreograph the routine and it was great...so sassy and perfect for all these girls. It was a fun night!

Emma finished out the month by losing another tooth! It was the first time she actually pulled it out on her own so it was extra exciting!

Saving the best for last...
Brady and I celebrated our 9th anniversary. I never imagined such a beautiful life would be ours.
The blessings get sweeter every year.

Reasons to Love Them

Brady ordered pink and orange sorbet ice cream when took the girls to BR the other night.

It was cute. I laughed and he said, "What? I like it...I'm man enough to admit it."

I got rocky road and since mine had nuts in it I couldn't share with Lyla...woops.

Emma has started to talk on the phone. Thanks to the parents in her class that gave their kids the class list. I finished teaching piano and walked in her room to find her laying with her head hanging off the bed talking about Justin Bieber. What?! When did this happen? She'd been on the phone for a half hour and I found myself saying, "That's long enough...come be with the family." What?!?! My head was spinning as I stepped out of my mom's shoes and back into mine. She was right though. She was always right.

Regan has homework and boys chasing her. And she likes to shower immediately after school. She hates being hot even more than I do. She gets her pajamas on and even lays out the next day's clothes and changes her earrings to match!

Lyla says "Min Mow" for Minnie Mouse and "Mamu" for Shamu. And she fist pumps. a lot.

Her current fave is "The Right Stuff" by New Kids on the Block. That's right. I said NKOTB. She loves loves books and adores popcorn, so that's what our mornings consist of. And most days she takes a 3-4 hour nap. I should have a lot more done when I think about it, but she wears me out in the morning.

Remember my "Back to School" trip to Target? I found a few things but the best was my NKOTB Greatest Hits. Yeah. I spent money on that. Brady was mad, until I played "Hangin' Tough"...then he was too busy head-bobbin' to remember my 'useless' purchase.

The Only Downside to Fall

Today I went to the temple and then ate lunch at Freddy's with my little brother.

Lyla got a much-needed break from me and our quiet house and played with my mom.

That's a good Thursday, I'd do it every week if I could.

Wives of football fans probably get why I am blogging tonight.

Blah.

It's the beginning of the college football season.

Brady won't sleep tomorrow night and he'll be extra chipper on Saturday morning.

That's right...another season of BYU.

I gave my traditional "pep talk" for the season.

It consisted of,

"I know you love this and I have really come to accept it but...

1. I will blog about you and your "fall fling".

2. This is no reason to fill our home with unsavory words.

3. If the worst happens (they lose...gasp!) it's not my fault...so don't go there.

4. Despite what you believe our Saturday schedule will not revolve around the game...but, we will do our best to make it so you can catch most games live.

5. I am always softened by a good morning's sleep, so go ahead and keep up that trick. I'm on to you- but I am ok with it.

6. If you delete any of my dvr timers because of espn...you are sleeping in the yard.

7. You don't have to wear your byu hat every weekend, ALL weekend...but at this point I'll pick my battles and let that one go.

8. Your devotion and intensity are definitely...something. But, try not to get carried away.

9. Probably best that we pick up the children's toys before kick-off so you don't end up on crutches. again.

10. You know I hate the sound of the announcers voices, so turn it down!

11. Remember that while you love byu and I accept it...you don't actually play on the team so...they can't hear you screaming at them. No matter how loud it is.

12. Lay low at church on Sundays after particularly rough games, because no one needs to know that you lost your voice from all the screaming.

And I don't care if you taught the girls to yell it but at no point in the season will you hear me cheer, 'Go BYU!'..."

It was a good talk.

But thank you byu...because you went independent, games are no longer on the horrible mountain channel...which means we finally switched back to dish. I have not been pleased with directv
